FILM & LITERATURE
Filmic Christ
Many have attempted to present the life of Christ through cinema since the advent of the medium. Even those who have attempted to stay true to the Gospel accounts must insert some additional elements and interpreted events as they adapt the New Testament accounts into a visual...and later sound enriched medium. Even the selection of actors to represent Christ plays into the interpretation and presentation of the Gospel accounts. In a way these films stand as Gospels themselves; and they say a lot about the filmakers and society at the time these films were released and man's need for a savior.
